Account Manager – Estimating & Sales of Windows, Doors, & Exterior Products

The Account Manager is responsible for maximizing sales and delivering an exceptional guest experience. In this exciting role, you’ll be creating lasting relationships while assisting with the selection, customization, and procurement of windows, doors & siding. This Account Manager will need the ability to estimate, create, and present quotes, close the sale and oversee the product delivery and the project to completion. As an Account Manager, you will be tasked with providing excellent customer service, regular follow-up with outstanding quotes, and long-term client sales focus.

Product Lines/Primary: H Window, Lincoln Window, Quaker Windows, Alpen, Duxton Windows & Doors, Trespa Pura


Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree – or deep knowledge and experience within architecture or the construction industry
  • 2+ years experience in a retail showroom setting
  • 4+ years of Account Manager / Sales experience
  • 4+ years of experience/knowledge of windows, doors, and exterior products 
  • Strong sales experience, with a history of meeting and exceeding sales goals
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work an occasional evening/weekend depending on showroom events and client appointments
  • Strong computer literacy – Expertise required with Spreadsheets/Excel, Take-Off Software, Powerpoint, Word, Quotation and sales tracking software or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision/self-motivated
  • Ability to work well with others
  • High-level understanding of construction techniques – specifically for windows, doors, and siding

 

Roles + Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Develop expert-level product knowledge of windows, doors, and exterior products
  • Work directly with architect/builder/interior designer/homeowner during product selections when possible
  • Use your skills and confidence to be a valued and trusted consultant
  • Work closely with vendors and their representatives on training, builder conversations, service work, and price negotiation
  • Become an expert on competitive products and specifically the differences between ‘us’ and ‘them’.
  • Ensures all documentation is accurate prior to order placement/completes “spec check” process
  • Master take-off, estimating, and specification entry software including where dimensions need to be communicated, measured, and verified
  • Create quotes based on client selections 
  • Visit job sites, take measurements
  • Conduct follow-up meetings to review & finalize selections before order placement
  • Track orders with vendors and periodically check in with clients regarding order status, estimated ship dates, etc.
  • Coordinate receiving & delivery with our vendors, warehouse partner & client
  • Manage damage claims and warranty issues with clients and vendors
  • Manage the ‘Exteriors’ area of the showroom
  • Work with marketing staff and Showroom Manager for events 
  • Maintain detailed and accurate customer records
  • Process and review vendor acknowledgments
  • Main point of contact for trade professionals and their clients
  • Own all phases of the client experience from consultation through delivery
  • Review plans for completeness, conflicts, and value management opportunities
  • Conduct field measures, job site evaluations
  • Assemble and prepare installation folders and work orders
  • Maintain and cultivate client relationships
